for City Council
PROVEN LOCAL LEADERSHIP

WHO IS RICHARD BAILEY?

Richard Bailey

Richard Bailey knows how to make local government work, because he has already done it.

As a two-term Mayor of Coronado from 2016 to 2024, and a City Councilmember for four years before that, Richard delivered the kind of results San Diegans have been waiting for:

  • Balanced budgets every single year
  • A city left debt free
  • Streets that got paved
  • Parks that stayed clean
  • A police and fire department that had what they needed to keep families safe
LOCAL LEADERSHIP

He was the youngest mayor in Coronado's history, and he earned re-election by proving that common-sense leadership and fiscal discipline are not slogans, they are a way of governing.

Now a Point Loma resident and small business owner, Richard is running for City Council because he sees a City Hall that has lost touch with the basics. While families struggle with the cost of living, the city has piled on new trash fees, parking fees, and taxes without fixing the roads, addressing homelessness, or getting the Ocean Beach Pier repaired.

COMMON SENSE

Richard's plan is simple and proven:

Balance the budget without new fees on residents
Prioritize public safety and core services
Fix our roads and infrastructure
Protect our coastal neighborhoods from developments like Midway Rising that put special interests ahead of the community
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

He holds a degree in business finance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and a master's in applied economics, and he has spent his career as a businessman and educator, not a career politician. Richard left party politics behind to run a nonpartisan, policy-focused, back-to-basics campaign, and he has earned the endorsement of the San Diego Union-Tribune along with neighbors across the political spectrum.

District 2 deserves a leader with a track record, not just promises.

Richard Bailey is that leader.
